When looking for a tutor we had tried the route of using an individual, however we had a real bad experience. I met with Tim Rutherford and he informed me all of their tutors are professionals and most of the tutors are school teacher. What I like most about Rutherford Tutoring Service is they are completely honest. I thought that when a student went through ACT test prep that their score should go up 5-6 points. I was informed that on average most students see a 2-4 point increase. Indeed my son took the test after working with his instructor and scored 3 points higher. He how has a 27 and is happy! I called other places and did not like the "pie in the sky" sales pitch I was given. Thank you for helping our son!

Unlike most places I called I felt that this company knew what it takes to provide quality ACT test prep. I liked the fact that they provide in home instruction and the price is really affordable. Our daughter really connected with the instructor and when she took the ACT test she scored a 26. We are happy with that score. She had taken the test another time and scored a 19. My wife and I were lied to at another test prep company. We were told that our son would have no problem going up 4 - 6 points on the ACT since he had never been through a course and that on average most students increase 4-6 points. He actually scored worse! We spent much more on the first course than the course at Rutherford Tutoring Service cost us. We were informed right up front from the staff at Rutherford Tutoring Service that most students score 2-3 points higher on average after taking a test prep course. After taking the ACT and having gone through the course at Rutherford Tutoring Service our son scored 2 point higher. I love the personality of the staff! They are all so friendly and helpful. When we consulted with another tutoring company we spent a lot of money having him tested and then were informed that our son needed about 250 hours of tutoring.That would have resulted in about $13000.00 worth of tutoring. We love our son, however we do not have that kind of money! When we were referred to RTS they suggested two hours of tutoring a week. Well we have been with the company for about 9 months and our son has improved so much and needless to say we have not come close to spending 13k. We can't think everyone enough. He is doing so well we have backed down to one hour weekly. I encourage anyone looking for a good, affordable tutoring company to not waste your time and give them a call.
