About Us
Rutherford Tutoring Service was started in 1999 as a business that offered in home tutoring to students in grades 1-8 in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. As the service and its excellent reputation became more widely known, private tutoring grew to encompass all grade levels from K-12. We now provide tutoring in Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, and Cleveland, Ohio and serve all of Northern Kentucky.
The company is under the direction of the company President, Tim Rutherford.
The Director of Education is Beth Rutherford.
The company is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. Everyone at the company is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from referrals.
Our business office is open 9AM to 5PM Monday through Friday and we also offer flexible arrangements for clients who need it.
Quality tutoring is more than matching a willing adult with a student and placing them at a location a few days a week thinking that if they meet often enough the student will overcome their deficiencies and frustrations. Tutoring reinforces the instruction that the student has received during the school day.
Done well, tutoring can help a student catch up in a few weeks rather than months or years. It can also help build a students self esteem and image of himself as a learner.
Tutoring done poorly can confuse a student, be a complete waste of time and money, and complicate the work of all educators that currently work with the student.
Our tutors and Test Prep Instructors are all professionals, most of them are certified school teachers or college professors. The goal of our entire team is to see each student succeed.
